What if I don't have a product? This is really not a problem. Now, with affiliate programs, you can browse through hundreds of products which you can sell online, many of which will give you up to 75% of any sales you make! That can really add up.
Where do I look for products to sell? The most popular affiliate program out there the ClickBank Marketplace. Click the link to explore the different sections and find how much you can make from each sale. You can choose to sell whichever and as many products as you like. The other popular affiliate program is Commision Junction. Here you can become an affiliate of some bigger companies with recognized names, but the payout is typically smaller and for many companies you have to go through an additional approval process. It's worth checking them out, but I'd start with ClickBank.
What are eBooks? Do you know a lot about a subject? How to use a computer program? How to write comedy? You can write a book, but getting it published can be a long, difficult process. Thus was born the eBook. An eBook is basically a digital book. The advantage is, you can sell your eBook online, and people can download and read it instantly. They are easy to make and most of the hot items selling on ClickBank are basically eBooks. But why sell others when you can write and sell your own and make more money? And not only that, once you write an ebook, you can put it up on ClickBank for others to market and sell for you! Start by making your own eBook (this link is a cheap, quick way to learn how), and then get a Digital Cover (click that link, or here for another option ) to make it look nice, and away you go. The hardest part, as many of you know, is learning to effectively market your product. Without effective marketing, no one will even know your product exists!
What is the easiest, most effective marketing method? What has become very popular these days is Google Adwords. You may have noticed that when you do a search on Google, there is a column to the right that shows additional results for your search. These are paid advertisements. Getting your site listed in a high profile spot on a search engine has become next to impossible these days. Your site is most likely going to be lost amongst millions of similar web sites. But by paying to have your ad shown in this high profile spot, your products will get a HUGE amount of exposure.
Google Adwords is easy to sign up for, and you only pay for your ad when people click on it. You choose your own keywords. When people do a search for these keywords, they will see your ad. You can choose how much you're willing to pay per click (starting at 1 cent/click), and also set a maximum that you want to spend per day. So if you don't want to spend more than $2 per day on advertising, you can set that as a maximum. One trick with Google Adwords is that the higher you're willing to pay per click, the higher on the page your ad will show when people do a search. You can adjust this yourself, and find what works best for you.
Here's a tip: The more keywords you use, the better. Some people will only use 20 keywords for a product. Try 200 and see how that works for you!
Are there other programs like Adwords?Yes. Yahoo! has a similar one, but it's already gotten very competitive and you can end up paying a lot per click. Also check out Miva. Other search engines will be adding this feature as well since it is a great revenue source for them!
Should I have my own web site? With programs like ClickBank, it is not necessary to have your own web site, but if you have your own product or think you can create a better selling strategy for a product, I highly recommend you make your own web site.
How do I make a web site? The first thing you need is to buy a domain name (eg. www.foolproofmoneymaker.com). GoDaddy has good prices and is a popular option. You also need hosting, which they provide, although I've found an incredibly cheap and reliable alternative that I've been using at Dollar-Hosting where hosting starts at only 50 cents/month (plus you can host all your sites on just one account)! The next step is to make a web site (what people see). You can hire someone to do this, or you can do it yourself. Programs like Dreamweaver make it easy. You can Learn Dreamweaver Quickly with various ebooks and online tutorials.
What other ways are there to promote my product? You can use link exchanges, which means that other sites will put a link on their site in exchange for a link on your site to theirs. Sometimes this works well, but usually it doesn't create a lot of traffic. You can also pay for advertising on any number of web sites. Another popular method is to find Pixel Sites like the Million Dollar HomePage and buy ad space (or some of them are free). A lot of people even use a script to make their own pixel site.

How do I get my money? ClickBank and Commission Junction (and pretty much all these programs) will send you a check by mail. With ClickBank, if you make more than $600 you have to get a tax ID which can be done online in 5 minutes (they'll tell you how). Commission Junction requires that you fax them some information as well. The beautiful thing about these programs is that once you're set up, you don't have to lift a finger.
If you have your own web site and aren't using ClickBank to sell your own product, another option is to use PayPal (Important: You MUST sign up for a Business or Premiere account in order to accept credit card payments). With PayPal you can give people a safe way to pay for your product right from your website.
What is Google Adsense? If you have your own website, what you can do is place a link to Google Ads on your site. Each time someone clicks on the ad Google will pay you a few cents to several dollars, depending on how much the advertiser is paying to have their ad places there. It's very simple to set up. I do recommend Adsense Gold if you want to learn more about making money this way.
Also, something I came across which is extremely useful is AdSense Empire which adds thousands of premade pages to your any web site you own. For some, it might be easier to grasp the concept by going to www.orangefreak.com and looking at the bottom part of the page. There you will see hundreds of links to articles on all types of things. If you go to any of these articles, you'll see at the top of the page there are Google ads. If someone clicks on these links, the owner of the site gets some money. These pages are already set up to be search engine friendly, so someone who may be looking for information on something in Google, may come across one of these pages, and click on the ad at the top for something that looks like they like. Having one or two of these pages isn't going to help much, but AdSense Empire provides thousands of these pages already set up for you. The idea is that since there are so many pages on so many types of information, people will be coming to your sites through search engines to find information, and a number of them will click on the ads. You just change the Google Adsense code (there's a utility included that automates this process for you) on all the pages.I'll be writing more on Google Adsense in the future, so come back.

I have given you the basic rules you need to make money on the internet. A year ago, with this information, you could have made a lot of money. Unfortunately today there are so many people doing the same thing that you're working with a lot of competition. For instance, on Google Adwords, there may be quite a few other people trying to sell the same product. This will dilute your sales dramatically. By following the guidelines I have laid out, you can make money. But, if you want to really make money, I recommend some of the following products, as they will tell you the tricks you need to get ahead. Good luck!
